The difference at a glance

TWO PREMIUM LIGHTING SYSTEMS. ONE CLEAR PREFERENCE.

Both Strata and Bosso offer permanent, app-controlled outdoor lighting. We chose Strata because its published technical specifications and installation options align with the results we want to deliver.

Product specifications and compatibility may vary by model and installation configuration. Confirm current manufacturer specifications before purchasing.

We don’t believe homeowners should choose permanent lighting on price or color options alone. Brightness, installation quality, and how the system looks on your home matter just as much.

BRIGHTNESS

ADVANTAGE 01 | LIGHT OUTPUT

BRILLIANT LIGHTING THAT MAKES AN IMPRESSION.

Strata advertises an impressive 130 lumens per bulb, giving homeowners powerful lighting output for everything from vibrant Christmas displays to sophisticated architectural accents.

With adjustable brightness and customizable effects, you can create a bold holiday display or a more subtle look for everyday enjoyment.

Why this matters: A system with strong available light output gives you more flexibility to choose between vivid illumination and dimmed architectural lighting.

Suggested visual: A 10-second Strata demonstration showing the same installed system at 25%, 50%, and 100% brightness.

Specifications are manufacturer-advertised figures, not an independently measured comparison against Bosso.

LED SPACING

ADVANTAGE 02 | LIGHT PLACEMENT

MORE LIGHT POINTS. MORE CREATIVE POSSIBILITIES.

Strata’s standard 8-inch LED spacing creates a closely spaced pattern along your roofline, providing more individual lighting points for colors, animations, and customized effects.

The result is greater flexibility when designing everything from elegant accent lighting to elaborate holiday displays.

Everyday Elegance

Why it matters: More individual light points can provide greater detail in animated effects and custom lighting patterns.

Discreet installation

ADVANTAGE 03 | ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN

BEAUTIFUL AT NIGHT. NEARLY INVISIBLE BY DAY.

Your permanent lighting should enhance your home’s appearance, not distract from it.

Strata offers four styles of powder-coated aluminum tracks designed to complement different rooflines and exterior finishes. Wiring is concealed for a clean, built-in appearance.

Daytime

Low-profile lighting tracks designed to blend with your home’s architecture.

Nighttime

Beautiful, customizable illumination that highlights your home’s roofline.

Designed for a professional finish

  • Four available aluminum track styles.

  • Powder-coated, color-matched finishes.

  • Concealed wiring and connections.

  • Clean roofline integration.

  • Weather-resistant materials.

Bosso also promotes a concealed installation system. Strata’s advantage for Ponderosa Lighting is the documented range of track options and the ability to design a finish around each home’s architecture.

SMART LIGHTING CONTROLS

ADVANTAGE 04 | SMART TECHNOLOGY

MILLIONS OF COLORS. ONE SIMPLE APP.

Your lighting should be as easy to control as your television.

With Strata’s smartphone app, homeowners can instantly transform the appearance of their property, customize individual lighting zones, and create schedules for everyday use or special occasions.

Strata vs. Bosso smartphone features

Both manufacturers provide advanced smart lighting. Bosso also advertises voice assistant integration and an AI-assisted control feature, so smartphone technology alone is not a clear Strata victory.

For Ponderosa Lighting, the selling point is the combination of Strata’s lighting controls, high advertised brightness, and flexible installation system.

Suggested video: A 15-second demonstration showing the Strata app changing a house from warm white to Christmas colors, then Halloween colors.

Frequently asked questions

Is Strata brighter than Bosso?

Strata publishes a 130-lumen-per-bulb rating. A directly comparable current Bosso fixture rating has not been verified, so an exact brightness advantage cannot yet be established. Ask for demonstrations of both systems under comparable conditions.

Does Strata offer more colors than Bosso?

Strata advertises more than 19 million colors and Bosso advertises more than 16 million. Both offer extensive color customization. These marketing figures alone do not establish a meaningful visible color-quality advantage.

Can Strata lights stay installed all year?

Yes. Strata is designed as a permanent outdoor lighting system, so you can enjoy holiday colors and everyday accent lighting without reinstalling seasonal strands.

Can I control Strata lights from my phone?

Yes. Strata supports smartphone control, lighting zones, preset effects, and automated scheduling.

How much does a Strata installation cost?

The price depends on your roofline length, property height, track requirements, and installation complexity. Ponderosa Lighting can provide an estimate tailored to your home.

What warranty does Strata Offer?

Request written manufacturer warranty terms and Ponderosa Lighting’s separate workmanship warranty with your estimate. Advertised lifespan and warranty coverage are not the same thing.
